| In 2013, the College of Education at our university signed an MOU with the Faculty of Education at Chiba University, aiming to promote bilateral academic research and interaction through cross-national collaborative research, shared academic achievements, and mutual visits by teachers and students. In accordance with this MOU, in June 2024, 15 students from Transdisciplinary Program in College of Education (referred to as the Program) accompanied by three teachers visited Chiba University to engage in a " Interdisciplinary X Transboundary " cultural exchange with students and faculty from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Faculty of Education.more |

| Lukas Engström is a Swedish national based in Taiwan. Shortly after he started to learn Mandarin Chinese here, he visited a soft drinks bar to buy a cup of pearl milk tea. While in the queue, he kept repeating to himself the Chinese phrases he had to say to the staff. When at last he gave the order in impeccable Mandarin, he thought all was well, but he was completely nonplussed when the smiling staff shot out these questions in truncated Chinese: “How sweet would you like it? International Cultural Festival Sets Sail for Diverse Cultures |

| After being postponed by the pandemic for two years, the three universities of the NTU System, National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University, and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, recommenced the jointly-organized International Cultural Festival on 28 March 2023. The two-day event comprised of up to booths showcasing up to 14 different cultures, including those of Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, etc. The booths not only sold dishes from distinctive cuisines but also artisan crafts; several of them displayed traditional clothes and cultural elements and offered hands-on activities for participants to explore individual cultures.more |

2023 OIA Chinese New Year Party for International Students |

| Lunar New Year is the most important time for a family reunion to the Chinese people. In order to let overseas students further understand the cultural customs of Chinese New Year and experience the local culture, the Office of International Affairs of NTNU in collaboration with the International Youth Service Team, held a Chinese New Year Party for International Students on December 7th. A series of Spring Festival activities were designed to create an atmosphere as dinner at new year's eve with the form of large table dishes. | To build a bilingual university, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) established the Office of Bilingual Education (OBE) in 2021 and started to promote EMI（English Medium Instruction）courses this semester to enhance student’s English proficiency and international competitiveness. On 18 March, one of the EMI courses, “Career Exploration in English,” invited Patrick Hafenstein, the Commissioner of Trade and Investment Queensland Office (TIQ) in Taiwan to share business trade and investment relationships between Taiwan and Australia.more |

International Students Experience the Allure of Traditional Chinese Theatre |

| To encourage greater participation and awareness of cultural exchanges and traditions, the Office of International Affairs at National Taiwan Normal University invited performance troupe members Huang Ruo-Lin and Shi Hong-Jun of Contemporary Legend Theatre to demonstrate the forms and attitudes of classic roles in Beijing Opera, likening the opera’s numerous stylized gestures to present-day virtual reality simulations with a hundred years head start! Students from Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia, Cambodia and other countries also enjoyed the charm of this traditional form of drama.more |

2022 Chinese New Year Party for International Students at NTNU |

| To celebrate the coming of new year, the Chinese New Year Party for International Students was held on December 29th. The party was started by a lion dance performance, followed by the traditional Chinese orchestra. More than 100 students attended the party. The organizer prepared traditional customs for students to try on and take pictures. The party was filled with a joyful atmosphere of new year celebration.more |

International Students Teach English at Rural Elementary School |

| In response to the bilingual policy by the government, National Taiwan Normal University cooperated with the Education Department of New Taipei City Government to open a Bilingual Local Cultural Immersion Workshop in the first semester of the 2021 academic year. NTNU is responsible for the training and recruitment of international students. A total of 18 international students from United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Finland participated the workshop and the Education Department invites elementary schools who are willing to participate.more |

International Cultural Day at Linkou Campus |

| The International Cultural Day can be dated back to the school anniversary event. Many alumni would come back to visit their teachers and friends. Director of Overseas Students Preliminaries Hong Ren Jin hosted the opening ceremony. President Liu Hsiang Lin from the Office of International Affairs and Principal of National Overseas Chinese Senior High School were invited to the event. Local citizens came and learned about the activities in different cultures. More than 250 alumni returned and it was a memorable scene. more |

Oversea Internship to Internationalization |

| In recent years, the ranking of NTNU has been rising in The Times Higher Education World University Rankings and QS University Rankings. It's our priority to raise students in an International environment. The Office of Teacher Education and Career Service has sent 101 students abroad for their internship in 2017. 41 of them are pre-service teachers that went to educational institutes and 36 of them attended business internships. In addition, 24 students were sent to institutes in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malasia in responding to the New Southbond Policy. more |

| Students of the Division of Preparatory Programs come from more than 20 countries in the world. The orientation is one of the most expected events. This year, the orientation last for three days, from September 13th to 15th. The students have to get up at 7 am and the activities last till 8:30 pm. Students are asked to dress up and not to wear slippers, sandals, shorts and jeans. more |

| The Division of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students has the largest overseas student in Taiwan. To welcome the upcoming lunar New Year, a luncheon was held on January 6th at the student restaurant of Linkou campus. Every year, the DPPOCS will held a ceremony worshipping ancestors in accordance with formal rituals. President Chang is the officiate. Taiwan Tops the 2016 International Junior Science Olympiad |

| The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, had a good showing at the 13th International Junior Science Olympiad. Six delegates from Taiwan won 5 gold and 1 silver medals and boosts the best performance of all countries. Lai Chun Mao from Tainan Jiansing Junior High School grabbed two individual prizes — best theoretician and best overall student — for his outstanding performance in the competition.more |
