Taiwan's men's recurve bow archery team Bagged Bronze at the 2021 World Archery Championships |

The 2021 World Archery Championships took place at Yankton in South Dakota. Taiwan's men's recurve bow archery team is mainly made up of NTNU alumni and students, including Coach Lee Tao Ming, Athelte Wei Chun Heng, Hung Cheng Hao are all from the Department of Athletic Performance. Wei just received silver medal from the 2020 Olympics and is now studying PhD in NTNU. He is the first NTNU trained athlete to receive a silver medal at the Olympics. Now, with Yu Guan Lin and Hung Cheng Hao and teammates, Taiwan’s men’s recurve team bagged bronze at 2021 World Archery Championships on September 25th.more |

| The first finalists of Tokyo Olympics 2020 of karate is announced on the website on World karate Federation on March 19th. Wen Tzu Yun, from the Department of Physical Education became the first Taiwanese karate athlete to be on the Olympics. | Members of Taiwan men's gymnastics team include Su Ping Chuan, Lee Chih Kai, Shiao Yu Jan, Tang Chia Hung and Yu Chao Wei scored 250.093 at the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Stuttgart, Germany, and secured their spots at the Olympics 2020. They attended the final as No. 8 and ended as No. 6, the best record in team in history. Tang Chia Hung also stands out in individual all-around and horizontal bar.

Lin Ying Shin, a Taiwanese sports shooter from the Department of Athletic Performance, took bronze medal at International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Wednesday, securing her spot in the Olympics 2020. She is our third shooter that will join the Olympics. Now in total, we have 12 spots in Tokyo Olympics, in addition to Lin Ying Shin, Tien Chia Chen in 25 meter pistol and Wu Chia Ying in 10 meter air pistol, both are from the Department of Athletic Performance. more |

Chinese Taipei Tug of War Team Took 5 Gold 4 Silver 1 Bronze in 2019 from Europe |

| The women's tug of war team, composed of teammates of National Taiwan Normal University and students from Taipei Jingmei Girls Highs School, went to Cape Town, South Africa in September for the 2019 Tug of War International Federation Outdoor Club Championships. The team took back champion in the junior 480-kg contest as their first attempt and in total they have grabbed 5 golds, 4 silver and 1 bronze and kept the 500-kg title for 2 consecutive years; they also triumphed in the under-23 500-kilogram event and senior 540-kg weight class for two years in a row.more |

The 13-day Summer Universiade Napoli 2019 ended on July 14th. Athletics from NTNU have made an impressive performance, earning 3 gold, 7 silver and 1 bronze for Taiwan, accounting for 1/3 of medals. Lei Chien Ying Won Two Gold at World Archery Championships |

Lei Chien Ying, a PhD student at NTNU and national archer, defeated South Korea by 6:2 on June 16th. It's the first-ever individual world championship of female archery for Taiwan. Later, she matched with world record holder Kang Chae Young from South Korea. It was a 5:5 game and with extended shots, Lei won by 9:7. Dean Chi Li Kang of the College of Sports & Recreation, Wang Ho Seng, Director Lin Mei Chung went the airport and welcome Lei Chien Ying and Wei Chun Heng. more |

Lei Chien Ying, an athlete at the Department of Athletic Performance and teammate Tan Ya Ting, Peng Chia Mao defeated the Mexican by 5:1 and won the gold of the recurve women's team at Archery World Cup. This is a good start for the World Archery Championship in June and possibly the ticket for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Wu Chia Ying Got Silver at World Cup shooting competition, entering Tokyo Olympics |

| Taiwanese sport shooter Wu Chia Ying, also a master student at the Department of Athletic Performance NTNU, came to 2nd with a total score of 238.4 points at the World Cup shooting competition in New Delhi India on February 26th. This enables her to join the Tokyo Olympics 2020. At the beginning of February, Wu's cornea was hurt due to her physical condition. It was a blessing that she recovered before the game. 78 athletes joined the competition. Wu successfully came to the second round with 582 points. In the final game, she first ranked 4th with 98.2 points but gradually she climbed up to the second. The champion is Veronika Major with 245.1 points. more |

Torch of 2017 Summer Universiade in NTNU |

On January 17th, the torch of Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade, a symbol of peace, light and bond, was given to President Wu Cheng Chih by Deputy Mayor Deng Chia Chi. NTNU athletes have been bringing home medals and honors in various competition. On the ceremony, representatives of 1987 and 2017 gathered together. This is an especially meaningful event.

| The Chinese Taipei men's volleyball team is mostly made up of students and alumni of the Department of Athletic Performance. In a total of 14 players, 9 have studied at NTNU. On September 1, the team played a great game against Qatar and get the bronze medal by 3 to 1. This is our first medal in 20 years since the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok. Yang Yi Chen, an alumna of the Department of Athletic Performance, joins Filottrano LARDINI, which belongs to Italian Women's Volleyball League Serie A1. She is the first female athlete from Taiwan that plays at the national league in Italy. LARDINI has 47 years of history. The men who made Yang's women's national volleyball team is Federica Rampazzo, a former coach for Lardini Filottrano. He is also the key figure that assisted Pei-Hung Huang the setter to join Latina last year.more |

After winning the first silver at gymnastic at Asian Games on August 23rd, TANG Chia Hung, a student of Department of Athletic Performance, won the second gold medal for Taiwan with 14.725 points. It's the first gold medal at horizental bar. Tang is the biggest winner in the filed with one silver and one gold.

| The Shooting game of Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games was held on August 19th. Lin Wins Bronze at Junior Shooting World Cup 2018 |

| The Chinese Taipei team received success at the 2018 Junior Shooting World Cup.
Lin Ying Shin, a student of the Department of Athletic Performance won a bronze in the women's 10 meter air rifle. The game was held on June 22nd to 29th at Suhl, Germany. A total of 146 female athletes attended the matches and 8 of them were able to play in the final round. Lin ranked number 4 with the score of 628.1 and came into third in her final round. The scores of the qualifying round weren’t counted in the final round. The winners of the game will be announced after 24 shots.

Athletes from NTNU have taken back 46 Gold, 40 Silver and 45 Bronze, which meet the expected goal of 40 Gold and gained a better result, compared to last year of 41 Gold, 47 Silver and 34 Bronze. | Junior student from the Department of Athletic Performance, Yu Ai-wen, received gold in the women's 10-meter air pistol event of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) World Shooting Sport Championship by a total of 237.6 points. This is her first gold in a International competition. She returned to Taiwan on March 19th. | Wen Tzu Yun, from Department of Physical Education, defeated the Gold winner of last year Tuba Yakan by 3:1 on March 18th on European Championships held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This was her first gold award this year and she moved a huge step closer to the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
