NTNU Visits Four Prestigious South Korean Universities, Solidifies International Presence |

| National Taiwan Normal University President Cheng-Chih Wu led a five-member delegation to South Korea from August 3 to 7, meeting with four of South Korea's top institutions. NTNU has close exchanges with Korean universities, with 32 MOUs, 22 Student Exchange (SEA) and 7 Dual Degree Programs (DDP) signed so far. This time, the NTNU delegation not only consolidated existing partnerships, such as meeting with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Busan University of Foreign Studies, but also signed University-wide Memorandums of Understanding and Student Exchange Agreements with Pukyong National University and Pusan National University.more |

NTNU Connects with Alumni and Partners in Canada and the US |

| As Fall 2024 drew to a close at National Taiwan Normal University, NTNU President Cheng-Chih Wu led an eight-person delegation comprised of the University’s top administrators to Canada and the United States. During 14-22 January, the delegation set out to visit overseas NTNU alumni as well as deepen relations and share about best practices in student care with NTNU’s partner institutions in the region. By the end of the week-long trip, the delegates were able to fulfill their desired objectives and conducted meaningful engagements at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, and Purdue University.more |

| National Taiwan Normal University President Cheng-Chih Wu led a four-member delegation on a visit to Germany from 4-15 July, meeting with six of Germany's top institutions, including Ruhr University Bochum, Georg-August-University Göttingen, University of Münster, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Free University Berlin which are all partner institutions with NTNU. Meanwhile, the NTNU delegation has reached a memorandum of understanding for university-wide cooperation with Technical University Darmstadt.more |

Universities of NTU System Visit Korea, Extend Welcome to Northeast Asia |

| Since 2022, National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University, and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (aka Taiwan Tech), have been conducting academic exchanges and organizing educational exhibitions in Southeast Asia through their alliance within the National Taiwan University System and producing excellent results. In order to promote Taiwan's higher education and expand its international visibility, the three universities carried out this cooperation model again this June with representatives from each school jointly holding admissions briefings and participating in the Incheon Education Fair in Korea. The three universities of the NTU System hope to attract more Korean students to study in Taiwan.more |

| National Taiwan Normal University’s College of Liberal Arts and the University of Melbourne signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 19 April. The two universities will work together to strengthen their respective master's and doctoral programs as well as the fields of translation, aboriginal studies, and Taiwanese literature. Visiting Delegation Led by Kyushu University President Strengthens Strategic Partnership with NTNU |

| As pandemic restrictions ease, in-person international academic exchanges may resume as before. On 30 March, a delegation from Kyushu University led by President Tatsuro Ishibashi came to National Taiwan Normal University and met with NTNU President Cheng-Chih Wu as well as other faculty members. The two parties held discussions on further academic cooperation and student exchange. Moreover, the guests were able to attend an important music performance and tour five campus landmarks, all the while sharing ideas during the entire experience.more |

NTNU’s College of Science and College of Technology & Engineering Sign Master Double Degree Agreement with Kyushu University |

| Following the visit of a National Taiwan Normal University delegation led by President Cheng-Chih Wu to Kyushu University in Japan last January, the two universities’ sisterhood deepens as they signed a Master's Double Degree Agreement on 7 March. The agreement enables NTNU's Master students from the College of Science and the College of Technology & Engineering to apply to study at Kyushu University for one semester (about five months), taking interdisciplinary science and engineering courses worth 20 credits. Upon completion of the NTNU Master's Program, thesis students will be granted Master’s degrees from both universities. The double-degree program is expected to have five open positions each year.more |

| On October 26, Quacquarelli Symonds announced the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2023, the first rankings focused on social and environmental sustainability performance in higher education institutions. NTNU is ranked 3rd in Taiwan and around 50th globally in Sustainable Institutions and 100th in education influence. President Wu Cheng Chih says that the resources of the university are given by the community and we should contribute ourselves to the community. In addition to pursuing the sustainable development of school affairs, National Taiwan Normal University also combines the power of the community, government and NGOs to jointly promote global sustainable development. NTNU strengthens education cooperation with University of Maryland and other US partners |

| National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and the University of Maryland (UMD) jointly signed a cooperative agreement on Wednesday to establish a Taiwan Huayu BEST Program partnership between the two universities, an endeavor that will expand educational and language exchanges and resources for both sides. The agreement was signed by President Darryll J. Pines of UMD and President Cheng-Chih Wu of NTNU during an official ceremony. Deputy Representative Robin J. C. Cheng of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States served as witness to the signing.more |

Strong Academia and Industry Collaboration drives NTNU to the Top Universities in Taiwan |

| Global Views Monthly published the "Top Universities in Taiwan" survey on June 29. National Taiwan Normal University has been on top 1 for five consecutive years among universities focusing on humanities and social sciences. In the academic year of 2020, the amount of industry-academic income exceeded 1.1 billion NTD, second only to National Taiwan University and National Cheng Kung University, and some science and technology universities. In addition, both academic achievement and teaching performance ranked seventh, which is also an improvement over last year, and the total number of Chinese papers and the average number of papers by teachers also ranked first in Taiwan.more |

| The results of the "2022 Taiwan Universities Reputation Survey” Global Views Monthly, a local magazine, was released on June 8. Presidents and vice presidents of 133 colleges and universities in Taiwan evaluated the "Best Universities of the Year" in the form of mutual evaluation. | After the cooperation last year with Penn State University and the University of California, Los Angeles of the "Taiwan Huayu Best Program" this year, National Taiwan Normal University signed the second phase cooperation agreement of the "Taiwan Huayu Best Program" with the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). With 70 years of Chinese language teaching experience of NTNU and the resources of UCSB, together we strengthen Chinese language teaching and promote Taiwanese culture. QS World University Rankings is based on four indicators: academic peer review, employer reputation, citations per faculty and H-index. The first two comes from academic researchers and employers that reflects the quality of school education; the latter two are objective statistics that reflect the quality and quantity of academic research.more |
