NTNU APATE International Conference Explores Regional Cooperation and Educational Innovation |

| On November 1st, the College of Education at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) hosted the APATE International Conference with the theme "Transdisciplinary Research and Practice in Teacher Education." The two-day event was met with the challenge of Typhoon Kong-rey, but under the emergency response led by APATE President and Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Hsiu-Lan Shelley Tien, the conference was held in a hybrid format with both online and in-person sessions. The total number of participants for the two-day conference was 281 in-person and 276 online, attracting scholars from 12 countries, including Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, U.K., China, and Australia, to discuss regional educational cooperation and future prospects.more |

| he Graduate Institute of Sport, Leisure and Hospitality Management of NTNU held an online meeting with the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management of University of South Carolina on January 14t.. Dean Li-Kang Chi of College of Sports and Recreation, Deputy Director Chang Yu Kai of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, Chair Tan Tien Chin of the Gradate Institute of Sport, Leisure and Hospitality Management attended the meeting to meet Associate Dean Samuel Y. Todd, Director, International Institute for Foodservice Research and Education Robin DiPietro Program Director Marketa Kubickova and International Internship Manager and Instructor Christina Sayers to discuss on the double PhD degree of NTNU and University of South Carolina.
A MOU of dual degree in master and PhD level was signed in 2014 and renewed in 2019. So far, NTNU has sent seven students to South Carolina for dual degree and five of them successfully finished the studies. Now we are planning on broadening the exchange programs for students at both sides.more |

The 2021 Taiwan-Philippines University Presidents’ Virtual Forum was held on August 24th by Taiwan Education Center Philippines and Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges under the theme of Language Education and International Linkage Under Covid-19. Executive Vice President Frank Yung-Hsiang Ying attended the forum representing NTNU, to understand the latest development of higher education in the Philippines and gave a talk about the Building Bilingual Environment in NTNU. About 70 representatives from 64 higher education institutes from Taiwan and 119 representatives from 107 higher education institutes attended the forum, making it the biggest online forum of Taiwan-Philippines higher education.
