NTNU’s Earth Sciences Department: Building Global Leaders

The Earth Science department at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) proudly announces the accomplishments of its distinguished alumnus, Phạm Thanh Thuỳ (范清水), who got the PhD degree in NTNU’s Earth Sciences Department at 2020 and now has been appointed as a Lecturer – Researcher at University of Science, Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUS, VNU-HCM). This significant career milestone underscores Phạm Thanh Thuỳ’s dedication to advancing education and research in Earth sciences and Sustainable Development.

The Faculty of Geology, where Phạm Thanh Thùy works, has successfully hosted the first international Conference on Earth Sciences and Sustainable Development (CESD 2024) on November 11–12, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam together with the Faculty of Physics - Engineering Physics, Faculty of Environment (HCMUS) and Faculty of Petrology and Petroleum Engineering (University of Technology, VNU-HCM). The CESD 2024 welcomed participants from Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, India, Poland, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and other countries, fostering collaboration to address global challenges.

This conference attracted more than 250 attendees from 9 different countries and tackled critical global challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration and cutting-edge research in Earth sciences and Sustainable Development, with a program divided into five thematic sections.
