QS University Rankings recently announced the new rankings for Asian universities for 2020. This year, NTNU moved up six places to number 61. Throughout the years, NTNU is ranked around 50~60 in Asia University rankings. The total score in 2020 is 58.4 a slight increase compared to 56.1 of 2019. Since the first year of QS Asian University Rankings, NTNU has been making some progress year by year.   A closer look at the various indicators reveals that NTNU's scores have improved steadily. The Academic reputation is 55.5, top 5 in Taiwan and Employer reputation is 32.9, showing that the industry has trusted in NTNU. The faculty student ratio score has is 82.9 this year, becoming the third in Taiwan.[ more ]

國際高等教育資訊機構Quacquarelli Symonds(QS)於11月27日公布2020年最新亞洲大學排名，國立臺灣師範大學排名61名，比去年進步6名，其中學術聲譽、雇主聲譽、國際研究網絡(IRN)等指標分數明顯成長，尤其去年新增的國際研究網絡(IRN)從亞洲230名進步到146名，分數也大幅提升，是此次排名進步的主因。 根據調查結果，臺師大總分比去年提高，自2019年的56.1分，進步到2020年58.4分，整體分數成長的結果，也呈現在最新排名上，亞洲排名從去年67名進步到61名。   [ more ]

In 2019, NTNU keeps up the good work of internationalization. 18 projects were approved. It’s expected that more outstanding international student would come to NTNU and study here. In 2015, the Ministry of Education in Taiwan launched a new program titled “Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP)' to welcome students to join different universities and colleges in Taiwan for short term professional internship. 國立臺灣師範大學推動國際化有成，持續執行教育部優秀外國青年來臺蹲點計畫，今年擴大為18件計畫案獲得補助，為全臺獲核定45校中核定計畫件數最多的大學，預計將招收數十名優秀的外國青年學員，除了來師大蹲點學習專業研究技能外，未來更可申請就讀本校研究所，有助於國際化發展，並提升研究能量。 臺師大國際事務處自106年起執行教育部「印度青年學子來臺參與Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP)試辦計畫」(TEEP@India)，延續「菁英來臺留學計畫(Elite Study in Taiwan，ESIT)」聯盟之大專院校持續開拓印度學生來臺實習，於印度教育界廣泛建立留學臺灣國際口碑。[ more ]

Due to the establishment of NTNU-Haskins Joint Laboratory of Brain Development and Learning, Academician of Academia Sinica Ovid Tzeng, Prof. Daisy L. Hung, Prof. Kenneth Pugh, the Director of Research at Haskins Laboratories, Vice President of Finance & Administration and Prof. Joseph Cardone, UNESCO Chair on Inclusive Literacy Learning for All, University of Jyväskylä Heikki Lyytinen came to NTNU and had a discussion about future cooperation with President Wu Cheng Chih and Executive Vice President Sung Yao Ting. The MOU was signed and both parties expect that with the establishment of the laboratory, more outstanding scholars can be linked together.[ more ]

因應本校與美國耶魯大學哈斯金實驗室共同成立「大腦發展與學習聯合實驗室NTNU-Haskins Joint Laboratory of Brain Development and Learning」，10月3日中研院曾志朗院士偕同中央大學洪蘭教授、哈斯金實驗室主任Kenneth Pugh教授、財政副主任 Joseph Cardone教授、芬蘭于維斯屈萊大學教授兼聯合國教科文組織( UNESCO ) 講座教授 Heikki Lyytinen拜訪本校，與吳正己校長、宋曜廷副校長等人針對未來實質研究合作進行討論，並簽署學術合作備忘錄MOU，雙方並期待能藉由聯合實驗室的成立，可連結全球更多優秀國際學者的國際學術合作與交流。[ more ]

Vice President Lee Chung Mou lead a group of administrators of 14 people to sister school Kyushu University on October 28th and 29th. Executive Vice President Masato Wakayama attended NTNU administrators happily.   Kyushu University is a Japanese national university located in Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu. It is the 4th oldest university in Japan and one of the former Imperial Universities. It is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Japan. Since 2010, it has been chosen by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture as one of the schools in Top Global University Project. The relationship between Kyushu University and NTNU can be traced back to the time as Taihoku College. [ more ]

國立臺灣師範大學副校長李忠謀率領行政參訪團，於10月28日至29日參訪姊妹校日本九州大學(Kyushu University)，此係兩校多次學術交流後首次的行政交流，獲該校若山正人執行副校長親自接待。 九州大學QS世界大學排名132名、亞洲區第30名、全日本排名第8名，為日本極具知名度的高等綜合學府之一。臺師大與九州大學兩校情誼深厚，2日的參訪活動，九州大學國際事務處精心安排參訪3場主題座談會，及2個校區共10個地方(單位)，讓臺師大同仁得以更全面了解姊妹校。[ more ]

The Yushan Scholar Program by the Ministry of Education started in 2018. The object is to attract the world’s elite by providing internationally competitive salaries and benefits so that their expertise can take root in Taiwan’s academic environment and increase the international impact of Taiwan’s higher education. Two Yushan Youth Scholar was appointed, one is Prof. Ulrich Menne at the Department of Mathematics and another, Assistant Professor Lee Yueh Ning, goes to the Department of Earth Sciences.[ more ]

In order to elevate the overall English proficiency of Taiwanese, the government launched the Blueprint for Developing Taiwan into a Bilingual Nation by 2030 in 2018 and set 2019 as the first year of bilingual Taiwan. To accelerate the progress of teachers becoming bilingual teachers, National Taiwan Normal University has conducted a series of bilingual teacher tutoring and training workshops this year. The workshop “Bilingual Education: Workshop to Enhance Students’ Emergent Bilingual Status” was held recently. This workshop is about Content and Language Integrated Learning.[ more ]

為提升臺灣國民英語力與國際競爭力，政府於2018年擘劃「2030年雙語國家政策發展藍圖」，並訂立2019年為「雙語國家元年」。為加速跨領域師資邁向雙語教師進程，國立臺灣師範大學今年辦理一系列雙語教師輔導與養成工作坊。近日落幕的「Workshop to Enhance Students’ Emergent Bilingual Status」，則帶領在職教師與師資生以學生視角，體驗「學科內容與語言整合學習」(Content and Language Integrated Learning；CLIL)形式的課堂互動模式。[ more ]

The Sports Academic Research Workshop and the Taiwan-US Sports Science Forum was held on October 19th. Professors and distinguished scholars from Taiwan and the United States gathered at the Gold Medal Lecture Hall to discuss sports. NTNU serves as the host, under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology, invited five guests from National Academy of Kinesiology, including Chair Professor Hung Tsung Min from the Department of Physical Education.[ more ]

體育學術研究工作坊暨臺美運動科學新紀元論壇10月19日展開，來自臺灣和美國的教授與貴賓學者聚集在師大金牌講堂，共同探討體育學術領域。在臺灣科技部指導下，師大作為主辦單位，更特別邀請包括體育學系洪聰敏研究講座教授等5位美國國家人體運動學院（National Academy of Kinesiology）蒞臨指導。 開幕致詞中，陳昭珍教務長歡迎臺美貴賓參加此次工作坊。她特別感謝活動的組織委員會、臺灣科技部，以及臺灣師範大學運動與休閒學院和科技與工程學院。她期待師大持續在運動科學領域扮演重要角色，帶領探索運動科學的新知識，並促進相關領域發展，也希望大家能享受這次交流和分享的過程。[ more ]

In order to assist the development of domestic universities and colleges to develop academic exchanges and cooperation, cultivate talents and develop regional development with academically influential educational and research institutions in Southeast Asian countries, the College of Education of National Taiwan Normal University held the Regional Alliance Project of New Southbound Policy: Education and Humanities under the Ministry of Education. In March 2018, the first Southeast Asia Education Dean’s Forum was held, inviting scholars from the top universities in Southeast Asia and domestic well-known universities to gather for the first time.[ more ]

為協助國內大學校院拓展與東南亞國家具有學術影響力的教育研究機構發展學術交流合作，共同培育人才與厚植區域發展，國立臺灣師範大學教育學院承辦教育部「新南向之教育及人文學術領域聯盟計畫」，2018年3月舉辦了「第一屆東南亞頂尖大學教育及人文院長論壇」，邀約東南亞頂大及國內知名大學教育及人文領域學者首次齊聚一堂。2019年3月擴大學術領域範圍，舉辦「第二屆東南亞頂尖大學教育及人文社會院長論壇」，邀請與會學者發表專題演講，議題討論聚焦於：教育如何為21世紀的競爭力預做準備。[ more ]

Members of Taiwan men's gymnastics team include Su Ping Chuan, Lee Chih Kai, Shiao Yu Jan, Tang Chia Hung and Yu Chao Wei scored 250.093 at the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Stuttgart, Germany, and secured their spots at the Olympics 2020. They attended the final as No. 8 and ended as No. 6, the best record in team in history. Tang Chia Hung also stands out in individual all-around and horizontal bar.[ more ]

國立臺灣師範大學運動競技系學生唐嘉鴻、徐秉謙，搭檔李智凱、蕭佑然、游朝偉等5人組成的臺灣男子體操隊，在2019年斯圖加特世界錦標賽成隊資格賽斬獲250.093分，10月7日確定拿到4張奧運門票，並以第8名躋身決賽，決賽則拿下成隊隊史最佳的第六名成績。唐嘉鴻也在個人全能及單槓項目拿下決賽門票。 本屆世錦賽攸關明年奧運資格，臺灣比去年高出11.898分，首次闖進8強晉級決賽，屆時將與俄羅斯、中國、日本、烏克蘭、英國、瑞士、美國等隊進行決賽比拚，爭取最佳成績。[ more ]

Lin Dong Yi, a music major at class 2021 at the National Taiwan Normal University, won the second place in the 29th Roma International Piano Competition. Among 108 pianists from 20 countries on four continents, Lin won the heart of the judges with his exquisite piano skills and varied timbre. Teachers and students of the music department are all happy about this great news.[ more ]

國立臺灣師範大學音樂學系110級學生林東毅，勇奪第29屆羅馬國際鋼琴大賽第二名。來自四大洲20個國家的108名選手中，林東毅以精湛彈奏琴藝及多變化音色，獲得大會評審青睞，音樂系師生與有榮焉。 今年第29屆「羅馬」國際鋼琴大賽（29th “Roma” International Piano Competition）是由羅馬蕭邦文化協會舉辦，來自四大洲20個國家108名選手參賽，賽程以年齡區分為少年組（Young Pianists）、新秀組（Emerging Pianists），以及鋼琴四手聯彈、雙鋼琴及蕭邦獎（Chopin Prize）等五個參賽組別，全部賽程自11月30日起至12月9日結束，於羅馬國家議會所授予榮譽的一間古蹟修道院內舉行。[ more ]
