Winners of the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) best library staff member election rejoiced this morning as they received their prizes from the hands of President Gou Yih-shun (郭義雄) on the Linkou Campus.
The election, which was organized by the libraries of all three NTNU campuses, ran between Dec. 8 and Dec. 21 and allowed library users to vote for a staff member of their choice.
At the main campus library, Yen Ju-lin (顏汝霖) and Chen Hsiao-yun (陳曉雲) shared the highest vote count, while Chen I-ching (陳怡靜) won in Kungkuan, and Kang Shan-chi (康珊綺) in Linkou
Yen, of the main campus, said he believed that he and Chen Hsiao-yun’s prize actually belonged to the library staff as a whole.
"We kept relaying all the day,” Yen said. “Therefore, this prize should be seen as a reward for everyone’s effort.”
Chen I-ching, who had been working at the Kungkuan library circulation desk for less than one year, expressed surprise at her winning.
"I have been here only since February,” she said. “I felt so overwhelmed by winning this prize today.”
