Malaysians tried to impress the public by traditional dancing and dishes at the International Culture Fair on the main campus today.
"Unlike other neighbor countries in south-east Asia, we have various landforms and ecological environment. But, it is a pity that most students would not consider Malaysia as they are planning for trips when they would prefer Thailand or Bali in Indonesia instead,” said Penny Goh, marketing manager for the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, an official office under Malaysian Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism.
The office was one of the sponsors for activity. International students from Malaysia did their best, including traditional Malaysian dancing show, selling traditional Malaysian dishes and giving away free souvenirs at the scene, which also made the vendor one of the most popular attractions.
Malaysians’ efforts were obviously echoed, as some of the visitors would complain that there was not enough food.
"It is really a pity that the food was already sold out when I came,” said Judy Kung (龔達瑋), a junior from the Department of Adult and Continuing Education.
