After the restart of the Wen Hui Building, the automatic book-lending machine started up on December 19th. Students could use their student ID card to lend the popular books. The NTNU convenient bookstore provided students a cozy space to read besides library.
NTNU was the first university with the automatic book-lending machine in Taiwan. Library imported this machine to school from the experience of Taipei Municipal Labrary. Principal Chang Kuo-en, the manager of library Chen Chao-chen, and the director of general affairs came to see the big present from library. The first 50 students who used the machine to borrow the book would get a little present. The machine allowed students to enjoy the delicious food, relaxed at Wen Hui Building and read a book at the same time.
The librarian demonstrated how to manipulate the machine. Just touched the screen, entered the passwords, and the following steps were mostly automatic. Students indicated that the new way of lending books was convenient. Students no longer had to go all the way to library to lend the books. Principal Chang hoped to build up a good atmosphere for students to study. Wen Hui Building was now a space like this.
