NTNU will hold the first Christmas Lighting concert on December 16th. The brass musician professor Yeh Hsu-han would lead the NTNU brass band to perform on the concert. Singapore Nanyang Technological University brass band was invited to participate in the performance as well. The huge performing group invited teachers, students, and the public to feel the joyful Christmas atmosphere in NTNU.
This was the fifth year of NTNU Christmas Lighting activity. Every December, the campus would be full of the beautiful lights. This year, besides to enjoy the visual scene, a concert would be held. NTNU Office of Secretariat Secretary General Lin An-pan, director of general office Wu Chung-hsin, professor Yeh Hsu-han, and the head of Da An district Pang Wei-li dressed as Santa Claus to delivery this good news, welcomed public to spend the night with the Christmas music.
NTNU had held many indoor concerts but never held the large-scale outdoor concert before. This time, with the completion of the front door fountain, principal Chang Kuo-en came up with the good idea of inviting the public to the outdoor concert. The concert would imitate the Wiener Phiharmoniker New Year Concert in City Hall. Professor Yeh Hsu-han mentioned the unforgettable concert in Austria Vienna while he was studying. This was the first outdoor concert since the brass band was formed 61 years ago.
