Scholars Concerned Gender Equality Education

 The two-day seminar, “The comparison and development of gender equality education international academic seminar” was started at NTNU on November 24th. The scholars and experts concerned about the gender equality for a long time gathered together to exchange academic experiences. Many teachers and students were attracted to participate in the seminar.

Currently the gender equality issue was highly discussed in every country. Taiwan gender equality education had outstanding result throughout years. In the first day, professor Kurt DeBord from United States Lincoln University shared his experience of “queer education” in United States. He educated students about lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, and queer issue. National Changhua Normal University vice principal Kuo Li-an shared the topic “gender education and marriage council” with a short film of family violence, brought out the inequality in marriage. Manager of Shih Hsin University Graduate Institute for Gender Studies Luo Tsan-ying discussed the campus gender violence prevent policy effect. Taiwan gender equality education system in related to the prevention of sexual harassment and natural violation. NTNU Department of Human Development and Family Studies professor Huang Hsin-hui talked about the international promotion to the Taiwan government legislation, policy, and reunited, and back to the campus gender equality education current performance analysis and discussion.

Manager of National Kaohsiung Normal University Graduate Institute of Gender Studies Yo Mei-hui shared the innovative issue of gender studies to wrap up the first day seminar. Besides the lectures, there were many theory publications. Through theory publications, provided scholars a platform to communicate and discuss.
