2018 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games, held at National Central University, came to a closure on May 2nd. Athletes from NTNU have taken back 46 Gold, 40 Silver and 45 Bronze, which meet the expected goal of 40 Gold and gained a better result, compared to last year of 41 Gold, 47 Silver and 34 Bronze. NTNU is ranked the third for the number of medals won. Seven athletes in three categories have broken the record, which is impressive and outstanding.   290 NTNU athletes participated in 15 categories. 7 of them broke the record in three categories and one have set a new record, which are swimming, archery, hammer throw and snatch.    [ more ]

107年全國大專校院運動會5月2日在中央大學圓滿落幕，國立臺灣師範大學選手共拿下46金40銀45銅，達到體育室預期40金目標，比去年41金47銀34銅進步，總獎牌數名列第三名，共3項7人破大會紀錄，表現出色。 臺灣師大代表隊參加了15個項目，290人參賽，共3項7人破大會紀錄，1人創大會紀錄，分別是程璉如、陳巧穎、張伊讓、曾婕娟在公開女生組游泳4x200公尺自由式接力賽中，合力游出成績8:50.99，破大會原來保持的8:55.08[ more ]

The 19th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2018) was held at Hanoi, Vietnam on May 12th. The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, grabbed 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze this year. Chung Shang Hsuan, one senior student, is praised as the Most Deserving Performer of Theory Round by the chairperson. Taiwan has participated in the Asian Physics Olympiad since 2000, and has performed very well each year. To date, Taiwan has won 63 gold, 42 silver, and 41 bronze medals and 14 honor mentions. Taiwan was ranked no.1 in 2001, 2003 and 2010.  [ more ]

國立臺灣師範大學物理系培育我國學生參加2018年第19屆亞洲物理奧林匹亞競賽自越南河內5月12日傳回捷報，在25個國家(地區)、188名參賽學生中，獲得4金、1銀、3銅，國際排名第3名，成績優異！其中建中高三學生鍾尚軒更榮獲競賽主席所頒發的「最佳理論獎」，表現卓越。 榮獲金牌學生為：國立科學工業園區實驗高級中學曾憲揚、建中鍾尚軒、建中高瑋伯、建中姜理元；銀牌為臺中一中陳昶瀚；銅牌為建中王維恩、臺中一中羅培瑞、臺中一中朱嘉棟。[ more ]

Lin Ying Shin, a student of the Department of Athletic Performance, attended the final round of the ISSF World Cup in Munich, Germany and grabbed gold in the women's 10 meter air rifle. She is the first female athlete that won a gold in the 10m air rifle category of the ISSF World Cup.   In fact, Lin Ying Shin has achieved a record-breaking 635.6 point in May in the Selection Tournament of Asian Games. However, it was not a game recognized by ISSF, so the record was not listed. However, it is strong evidence that she in the list of top athletes.[ more ]

國立臺灣師範大學運動競技系學生林穎欣於5月24日在德國慕尼黑舉辦的世界盃女子10公尺空氣步槍決賽，擊敗中國女將吳明陽封后，成為臺灣首位在世界盃拿下10公尺空氣步槍金牌的女將。 林穎欣今年5月曾在亞運選拔賽中，射出635.6分打破世界紀錄，不過當時這項選拔賽非國際射擊總會（ISSF）所認可的比賽，因此紀錄不被總會承認，但已證明她的實力屬全球頂尖之林。[ more ]

The 2018 International Symposium of TFSP on Impact of and Alternatives to Systematic Pesticides, held by by National Taiwan Normal University on June 29th at main campus of NTNU, is for calling attention to the impact of systemic pesticides on Taiwan's biodiversity and ecological environment with objective scientific viewpoints and alternative solutions. Vice President Chen Chien Jen, specialized in environmental public health, and National Policy Advisor Chang Fu Mei, who has contribution of black bears conservation, were invited as guests at the opening ceremony. Experts and scholars of environmental toxicants and public health from around the world came to share the impact of systematic pesticides on biodiversity and the ecological environment. In this seminar, we have experts from Switzerland, Italy, France, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan and mainland China.[ more ]

臺師大舉辦全球論壇 期許化環境危機為轉機 臺灣每公頃農藥用量全球第一 副總統宣示推動我國農藥用量減半 根據過去統計，臺灣每公頃農藥用量是全球第一名，高達17公斤，比第二名日本多出6公斤，也比全世界平均用量0.5公斤高出許多，尤其近年來常使用系統性殺蟲劑，更造成許多動物及昆蟲慢性中毒，法國等多個國家發現生態問題嚴重，更立法推動農藥用量減半及採用生態農法。[ more ]

The conference The Indigenous Knowledge, Taiwan: Comparative and Relational Perspectives held by NTNU and UCLA, took place in UCLA on May 11th to 12th. Outstanding scholars around the world gathered together for a prosperous talk about indigenous issues. The relationship between both universities has become stronger.   The conference is an annual event of UCLA-NTNU Taiwan Studies Initiative, coordinated by Prof. Shu-mei Shih. 16 papers will be published in two days and there's also a Writer’s Forum. The discussion is about Taiwan's Indigenous people and will be expended to those who live in America, Mexico, Okinawa, the Philippines and Australasia.[ more ]

On March 29th, President of Simon Fraser University Andrew Petter and administrators came to NTNU to meet with President Wu Cheng Chih for re-signing the MOU. Vice President for International Affairs Yu Kuang Chao also came to the meeting. They have spent a nice time together and deepen the connection between the two schools.   Simon Fraser University, commonly referred to as SFU, is a public research university in British Columbia, Canada. The Center for the Research & the Business Development of Asian Pop Culture is the organizer of Pop Music Interdisciplinary Development Project. The seminar, held at the Conference hall on April 20th and 21st. is about the development of pop music in Taiwan, the education of talents, various aspects of the academic and industry. Professors and musicians from Japan, America, Thailand, Indonesia are invited to sign the MOU of World University Concert and hope that the concert can serve as Universiade where talented college students can compete and exchange ideas through the competition.[ more ]

The 30 Under 30 Asia by Forbes was announced on March 29th, four Taiwanese women made it to the list and one of them is the founder of Good Food Enterprise Viola Cheng. The alumna started her business Good Food Enterprise Co in 2014.   Viola Cheng from the In-service Master Program of the Department of Adult and Continuing Education co-founded the Good Food Enterprise Company with her husband Yang Boyu. She is also the winner of The Stevie for Women in Business of 2017. [ more ]
