During the signing ceremony, President Cheng-Chih Wu stated that the percentage of foreign students at NTNU is the second largest in Taiwan and the percentage of overseas Chinese students is the first in Taiwan. Meanwhile, Malaysian students comprise of the largest percentage among foreign students at NTNU (18%). These data shows that foreign students, especially Malaysian students, are welcomed at NTNU.
The NTNU delegation also met with two partner institutions, the University of Malaya and Tunku Abdul Rahman University. The delegates also toured the University of Malaya's Main Library, Hong Lou Meng Research Centre, Museum of Asian Art, and Tropical Infectious Diseases Research & Education Centre.
