The Division of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students organized the 2019 Asian Youth Education Development-Secondary School Principal Forum last year, inviting principals from Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Myanmar to Taiwan to discuss the current situation of secondary education and topics on school management, which were highly praised by the attendants. Therefore, this year, the Division organized the 'Asian Youth Education Development in 2020: Secondary School Progression Policy and Approach Forum-Internationalization Experience Dialogue'. With the impact of the Covid-19, it is decided that the forum will take place online.
In addition to the online form, we have arranged a visit to IB schools in Taiwan. On September 25th, the administrator visited Taipei Kuei Shan Private School, the first IB school in Taiwan available for students from elementary to senior high school. On October 22, they visited Taipei Municipal XiSong Senior High School, which is going to be the first IB recognized public school at the end of year. On November 19 and 20, they visited Kang Chiao International School and Taipei Municipal Zhong-zheng Senior High School.
Ms. Ikuko Tsuboya-Newell (Bea) is the founder of Tokyo International Progressive School. In addition to TIPS, Bea is the founder and chairperson of Tokyo International School (TIS) and IB Japan Ambassador. She is the first speaker and shared about the current situation of IB school in Japan.
The second speech is given by Director Tsai Ya Hsun shared the IB Teacher Training from the point of view of NTNU, introducing our current efforts in the IB program, including the international teacher programs by the College of Teacher Education and the Department of Chinese as a Second Language , and to prepare professional teachers in advance for future needs. T
