Administrators of NTNU Visit Kyushu University

Vice President Lee Chung Mou lead a group of administrators of 14 people to sister school Kyushu University on October 28th and 29th. Executive Vice President Masato Wakayama attended NTNU administrators happily.
Kyushu University is a Japanese national university located in Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu. It is the 4th oldest university in Japan and one of the former Imperial Universities. It is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Japan. Since 2010, it has been chosen by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture as one of the schools in Top Global University Project. The relationship between Kyushu University and NTNU can be traced back to the time as Taihoku College. As much as 227 students entered Kyushu University for studying. To foster the cooperation between units, NTNU has made Kyushu University as our benchmark. In this two day visit, the Office of International Affairs of Kyushu University arranged three workshop and ten units in two campus for NTNU administrators to know more about their university. Around 80 faculties from Kyushu University took part in welcoming NTNU guests, ranging from Executive Vice President, Library Director to professors.
In order to train excellent administrators, NTNU has been executing benchmark learning project, taking administrators to top universities around the world and learn from them. This visit was planned since May. Several meetings were held for the discussion of the schedule and key visiting units.
According to Vice President Lee, NTNU will welcome its 100th anniversary in 2022. The experience of Kyushu University in its 100th anniversary in 2012 can be helpful to NTNU. The administrators learned a lot from this visit and they are grateful of the arrangement from the sister school.
