Father of Modern PrintMaking Liao Shiou Ping Receives Honorary PhD |

At the graduation ceremony of the National Taiwan Normal University on June 23rd, President Wu Cheng Chih presented an art doctorate in honorary art to Chair Professor Liao Shiou Ping in recognition of his lifelong efforts in the creation, education, promotion of printmaking. As a promoter of modern printmaking in Taiwan, Dr. Liao introduced lots of foreign printmaking techniques and advocated the concepts and techniques of modern printmaking. Thus, Taiwan's printmaking art is full of creativity and modern multidisciplinary. He also cultivates countless printmaking artists. Dr. Liao is widely considered as Taiwan’s “Father of Modern Printmaking”.

Lin Wins Bronze at Junior Shooting World Cup 2018 |

| The Chinese Taipei team received success at the 2018 Junior Shooting World Cup.
Lin Ying Shin, a student of the Department of Athletic Performance won a bronze in the women's 10 meter air rifle. The game was held on June 22nd to 29th at Suhl, Germany. A total of 146 female athletes attended the matches and 8 of them were able to play in the final round. Lin ranked number 4 with the score of 628.1 and came into third in her final round. The scores of the qualifying round weren’t counted in the final round. The winners of the game will be announced after 24 shots.

Honor Chairman, and Chairman and many other guests came to the dinner. Vice President Ying visited the Representative Tung Chen-yuan at Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand. Lin Ying Shin, a student of the Department of Athletic Performance, attended the final round of the ISSF World Cup in Munich, Germany and grabbed gold in the women's 10 meter air rifle. She is the first female athlete that won a gold in the 10m air rifle category of the ISSF World Cup.more |

| 2018 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games, held at National Central University, came to a closure on May 2nd. Athletes from NTNU have taken back 46 Gold, 40 Silver and 45 Bronze, which meet the expected goal of 40 Gold and gained a better result, compared to last year of 41 Gold, 47 Silver and 34 Bronze. NTNU is ranked the third for the number of medals won. Seven athletes in three categories have broken the record, which is impressive and outstanding. more |

Pre-service teachers went to UBC for Practice Teaching |

| The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a public research university with campuses and facilities in Vancouver and Kelowna, British Columbia. Established in 1908, UBC is British Columbia's oldest institution of higher learning. The university is ranked among top 20 public universities worldwide and top two in Canada. UBC has close relationship with NTNU. The Office of Teacher Training and Career Service has been promoting the in practice teaching of pre-service teachers. In 2017, eight pre-service teachers have gone to UBC for a two-week practice teaching; three pre-service teachers from UBC have come to Taiwan and finished their practice teaching. Some significant result has shown to those who finish their practicum.

The New School Visits NTNU |

| The story began with emails, two and a half hour seminar in New York and later, A mail from Matthew Sullivan, Chief of Staff and Director of Special Projects, College of Performing Arts, the New School connected Amanda Hosking, Director of Admissions/College of Performing Arts and Chairman/CEO Hsia Hsueh Li of EMBA in Global Fashion. On April 11th, Director Hosking wrote to confirm that he'll visit NTNU on April 15th. Chairman Hsia felt so touched and said that he met Director Hosking on the trip to New York with GF-EMBA students in January. He was glad that she'd like to pay a visit to NTNU during her busy schedule visiting Asia. more |
