NTNU Signs Academic Cooperation MOU with MSU and UPI

The College of Education and the College of Science of our university have signed college-level Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with the College of Education at Mahasarakham University(MSU) in Thailand and the College of Educational Sciences at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia(UPI) in Indonesia to promote mutual academic exchanges.

On October 18th, the College of Education and the College of Science at our university signed academic cooperation MOU with MSU and UPI. With the goal of becoming a global leader in educational research and nurturing future international talents, the College of Education and the College of Science are dedicated to expanding opportunities for international higher education cooperation and exchange. They aim to create a diverse, interdisciplinary academic exchange network and enhance the international perspectives and competitiveness of both students and faculty through exchange programs, collaborative research, and other value-added benefits. This collaboration agreement will further strengthen the long-standing international academic connections among these three institutions and expand the international influence of the university.

MSU was established in 1968 and is located in Maha Sarakham, in the northeastern region of Thailand. It was ranked as the fourth-best university in Thailand according to THE University Rankings 2023.

UPI was founded in 1954 in Bandung, Indonesia. In 2023, it is ranked among the top 20 universities in Indonesia according to the QS World University Rankings.

The signing of this academic cooperation memorandum was witnessed by Executive Vice President Yau-Ting Sung, Executive Vice President Yung-Hsiang Yin, Vice President for International Affairs Yi-De Liu, and key members from both sides. The agreement was signed by Dean Hsiu-Lan Tien of the College of Education, Dean Jein-Shan Chen of the College of Science, Dean Chowwalit Chookhampaeng, of the College of Education at MSU, and Dean Rudi Susilana of the College of Educational Sciences at UPI.

After the signing of the cooperation agreement, representatives from all three parties introduced the characteristics and development vision of their respective colleges. During this process, Jiraporn Chano, Deputy Director of the International Office at MSU, shared information about recent international conferences and invited scholars from all three institutions to attend. Laksmi Dewi, Head of the Curriculum and Technology Department at UPI, mentioned that their university has programs in early childhood education and special education, expressing a desire to enhance collaboration with our Department of Child and Family Science and the Department of Special Education.

According to this cooperation agreement, the College of Education and the College of Science will collaborate with the College of Education at MSU and the College of Educational Sciences at UPI in the areas of teaching and research. This collaboration encompasses academic exchanges, faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and cultural exchange activities. The signing of this agreement marks the beginning of a long-term partnership among the three institutions, which will help further promote international academic exchanges and lay the foundation for deeper cooperation in the future.
