Raising awareness on COVID-19 prevention
圖

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly. The school continues to follow the latest guidelines announced by the CECC, Ministry of Education and Taipei and New Taipei City Government to implement campus prevention measures. Below is a list of response procedures as a reference for all NTNUers.

1. If you receive an alert on the Taiwan Social Distancing app or a Self-Health Monitoring Notification from the school:

 (1) Don’t panic! When you get an alert on the app, practice self-health monitoring and avoid large-scale activities, dining out and gatherings. If you don’t have any symptoms, you can still go about life as usual—go to school, work and take public transportation. Just make sure you wear a mask at all times.

 (2) If you receive a Self-Health Monitoring Notification from the school, follow the instructions for subsequent steps.

 (3) The CECC encourages everyone to download the Taiwan Social Distancing app and honor the real-name contact tracing system by scanning the 1922 SMS QR code.

 (4) NTNUers are reminded to use the NTNU APP to scan the QR codes before entering venues on campus for future contact tracing needs.

2. If you have a fever or respiratory symptoms:

 (1) Do not come to school if you have a fever (forehead≧37.5℃, ear≧38℃).

 (2) First assess if you are at risk of infection: Been to a COVID hotspot visited by a confirmed case? Contact with a confirmed case? Visited a crowded place? Location history overlap with a confirmed case?

 (3) If you are at risk and experiencing respiratory symptoms, wear a medical mask and go to a nearby designated clinic for medical assessment and get a publicly funded COVID-19 home test kit if deemed needed by the physician.

3. If you have been in close contact with a confirmed case:

 (1) Practice self-health monitoring. If the close contact is tested negative, you can resume with normal life.

 (2) If the close contact is tested positive, please cooperate with health authorities to take follow-up actions.

4. If you have been in contact with a confirmed case:

 (1) If you were in the same class as a confirmed case, recall if you were wearing a mask throughout the class and wait for the contact tracing notification from the school or health authorities. While you are waiting, practice self-health monitoring and step up personal prevention measures. Avoid crowded places and prepare to shift learning modality according to the school’s evaluation.

 (2) If you were in the same club, took the school shuttle bus or dined at the same cafeteria as a confirmed case, practice self-health monitoring first and prepare to shift learning modality according to the school’s evaluation.

 (3) If you are roommates with a confirmed case in a dorm, stay in your room and wait for the school or health authorities to inform you of the follow-up steps.

 (4) If you receive notification that you were in close contact with a confirmed case, practice home quarantine and voluntarily notify the school. Cooperate with the health authorities for testing and prepare to shift learning modality according to the school’s evaluation.

5. If you are tested positive using a home test kit:

(1) Go to your nearest testing station or hospital for further examination as soon as possible. Wear a mask and do not take public transportation.

(2) Seal all used test items in a plastic bag and take it to a designated testing station or hospital for disposal by the medical staff.

(3) If you live in a dorm, do not return to your room while waiting for the PCR test result. Subsequent accommodation will be arranged for you.

6. If you are tested positive, please voluntarily notify the school and provide us with information to facilitate the contact tracing investigation. Kindly inform the school of your last day on campus, location history, classes and activities taken, whether you live in a campus dorm, and people who might have been in contact with you, etc. The school can then take action by cleaning and disinfecting the environment. After assessment by the health authorities, you will either be considered eligible for home care or subject to quarantine and treatment.

7. Self-Report Hotline: Health Center 02-77493111/Student Adviser Office 02-77493123

8. Online self-report: NTNU Reporting System for Confirmed Cases and Home Quarantine Persons (https://reurl.cc/2Zbnr6) or open the NTNU APP and tap on the system to report.

Sincerely,

Health Center, Office of Student Affairs
