The sister schools of NTNU are located around the world. Vice-rector of the University of Warsaw. Warsaw Prof. Maciej Duszczyk came to NTNU on April 26th with administrators and signed an MOU. According to Prof. Maciej Duszczyk, now we focus on Chinese teaching, in the future, the cooperation may be expanded to the College of Science, the College of Education. Executive Vice President Sung Yao Ting, Associate Vice President Liu Yi De, Executive Director at the Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu Chen Bou Hsi, Director of the Department of Chinese as a Second Language Chen Jenn Yeu, Associate Director of the MTC Tu Chao Mei welcomed the guests from Poland.
The University of Warsaw, established in 1816, is the largest university in Poland. It employs over 6,000 staff including over 3,100 academic educators. It provides graduate courses for 53,000 students. The University offers some 37 different fields of study, 18 faculties and over 100 specializations in Humanities, technical as well as Natural Sciences. Frédéric Chopin, the world known composer, was graduated from the University of Warsaw. Now they values cross disciplinary, or even cross-broader studies. For example, our College of Education and the Department of Chinese as a Second Language can work with the Oriental Studies and Chinese Studies from Warsaw University on education system. Our graduates have taught in the University of Warsaw for years and received positive feedback, which drives the signing of the MOU. In the near future, we may be able to promote TOCFL, Test of Chinese as Foreign Language to Poland. TOCFL started in 2003 and has been recognized by many countries. Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching Jolanta Choińska-Mika mentioned that they are responsible for various language tests. They are open to working with Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu.
