On January 9th, Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea from Mapúa Institute of Technology visited NTNU with the accompany of Karen Ku from Manila Economic and Cultural Office. President Chang and Director Yu from OIA received them and welcomed them.
President Chang said that NTNU now bonds with two universities in Philippines and there are students studying at the Department of Applied Chinese Language and Culture and English Department. We welcome Pilipino students to study here. Students come from more than 80 countries, it’s no doubt that we offer an internationalized learning environment with multi culture. President Chang added that in addition to course taught in English, the Mandarin Training Center is world known. Many students can speak in Chinese after 6 months of study. It’s a great opportunity for students who want to learn the language as well as the culture.
Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea said that Mapua Institute of Technology is a source of architects, engineers, and science graduates in the architectural and engineering fields as Mapúa Institute of Technology specializes in these fields in the undergraduate and graduate levels. Director Yu said that NTNU is a leader in educational field as well as engineer education. Both sides can learn from each other.
After formal discussion, the NTNU Ambassador introduced the campus for the guests, who visited the Mandarin Learning Center. Director Shen Yung Cheng and Prof. Tu Chao Mei from the teaching team received the guests from the Philippines. Assoc. Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea was highly interested in MTC and suggest to arrange a short term study group at MTC.
