【演講內容簡介 Abstract of the Talk】
In higher education, student engagement is a crucial aspect affecting students' success in higher education (Kahu et al., 2020; Lei et al., 2018). According to Kuh et al. (2005), student engagement includes two components: 1) the time and effort that students put into their studies and learning experiences, and 2) the institution's provision of learning opportunities and services to encourage student participation (p. 9). Critics have argued that focusing solely on instructional strategies and interventions overlooks the role of learners (Kahn, 2014; Pomerantz, 2006).
This workshop seeks to address this issue by focusing on both aspects – creating learning opportunities for students and empowering them to take charge of their own learning and professional development. Participants will learn how to incorporate gamification (Kahoot!), online discussions (Padlet), and teamwork/peer feedback (CATME) into their courses.
