Have you even noticed that the campus looks a little bit different lately? The Roman plaza becomes a pond for boats and the clock is surrounded with white spider webs. These are created by students from the Department of Fine Arts in the name of freedom and they will be on campus till the end of June. Everyone are welcomed to take pictures with these arts and think about freedom. more

The EMBA in Global Fashion, focusing on nourishing the talent in branding, marketing and fashion management, held the welcome party at Grand Hotel and presented their work of fashion. Model Lin Yu Li, President Chang Kuo En, CEO Hsia Hsueh Li and Designer Huang Hsiu Chin prepared the symbolic code that represent the five ethnic groups in Taiwan. more

Prof. Brian MacWhinney from Carnegie Mellon University was invited to give a speech about the limits of age differences on language learning. Brian MacWhinney is a Professor of Psychology and Modern Languages at Carnegie Mellon University, who is specializes in first and second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and the neurological bases of language. The speech was held on March 22nd under the initiation of Aim for the Top University office. The topic is “Biological(?) Limits on Success in Second Language Learning”, discussing the difference in language of people from different age groups. more

National Taiwan Normal University was ranked 310th in 2016 QS World University ranking, which is partly the reason why NTNU is so popular at the University Expo. This year, the ministry of Education first granted the oversea educational internship program and the list was revealed in January 18th. Three projects from NTNU pass the selection and was granted 2.75 million. The destination of the projects are Canada, Shanghai and Singapore.more

Lipinski, Dean of the School of Information, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, came to National Taiwan Normal University and met with Vice President Wu Cheng Chi , accompanied by Wu Mei Mei, director of the Institute of Library and Information Studies. He was invited by the Institute of Education and the Institute of Library and Information Studies to give a lecture on the copyright of the physical and digital environment in campus.more

Prof. Hubert Käppel, one of the most influential guitarists in the world, came to the music department concert in the evening of October 31 to hold a unique solo recital, attracting more than 100 people to listen to the master playing. The master class was held November 1st, welcoming guitar lovers to learn from master himself. The famous Taiwanese guitarist Alfredo Show-Lee Huang serves as the interpreter. more

In the class of 2016, there are students from 18 countries in The Division of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students and mostly are from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Myanmar and Indonesia. Some even come from South Africa and Brazil, with an increasing number of students from Vietnam. To give them a special, multi-cultural completion ceremony, the ceremony is held outdoors and there’s another one at night. President Chang Kuo En, Deputy Minister of Overseas Community Affairs Council Tien Chiu-chin, and the Section Chief of the Ministry of Education, Liu Su Miao all sent their greetings to the students who complete their studies. more

The Master’s speech of 2016 invited Chair Professor Gao Xingjian to share with students his wisdom under the topic of “Being a Free Man”. His work, Soul Mountain, received the honorable Nobel Prize in Literature 2000, making Gao the first Chinese author that won the title of a Nobel laureate. Founded in 1946, National Taiwan Normal University is going to celebrate its 70th anniversary this year. From May 12th, a series of celebration event will come one by one. This year, NTNU is going to release its alumni card for the first time, and invited 110 thousands alumni around the world to apply the card for free.
