2020 International Conference on Technological and Vocational Education at NTNU

The 2020 International Conference on Technological and Vocational Education was held by the Department of Industrial Education of NTNU on January 4th. Lin Teng Chiao, Administrative Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, and Le Thai Hung, Dean of Faculty of Quality Management, University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Siririt Petsangsri, Director of the Department of Industrial Education of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and Hanief Saha Ghafur, Chairman of Education at Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama were invited as keynote speakers. Scholars and experts from home and abroad gathered at NTNU to communicate and discuss about international cooperation in vocational education.

Administrative Deputy Minister Lin Teng Chiao welcomed the guests at the opening ceremony with the hope to further cooperation between universities internationally. He first shared with the attendants the K12 revolution in vocational education. Dean of Faculty of Quality Management Le Thai Hung talked about “Using Formative Assessment in Vocational Education to Empower Students' Self-directed Learning”. Dr. Sirirat Petsangsri shared under the topic of Vocational Education in Thailand: Ready to Welcome 4th Industrial Revolution and Dr. Hanief Saha Ghafur talked about the Development of ICT in Higher Education, The Case of NU's Higher Education as Education Industry in Indonesia.

Head of Department of Large-Scale Assessment and Statistics in Education, Vietnam National University-University of Education, Hanoi, President Lee Ta Wei Lee at Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology and Commissioner Wu Rung Feng at Kaohsiung City Government’s Department of Education and Deputy Commissioner Ho Ya Jiuan at Taipei City Government’s Department of Education were invited to share their thought at different sessions.

Domestic and foreign scholars published papers on topics such as international technical and vocational education, cross-domain integration ability, student independent learning and literacy-oriented teaching. Vocational teachers and scholars from many different schools participated in the seminar. It’s a great time for experts to exchange ideas for a brighter future and solid development of vocational education.
