2019 NTNU-Kyushu U Joint Forum on Facilitating Interdisciplinary Research and Education

The 2019 NTNU-Kyushu U Joint Forum on Facilitating Interdisciplinary Research and Education was held on May 28th by NTNU and Kyushu University. President Wu Cheng Chih, Vice President Frank Y-H Ying and faculties and students from College of Arts, College of Education, College of Science and College of Technology and Engineering attended the forum with President Chiharu Kubo and 42 members from Kyushu University.
Kyushu University is a Japanese national university located in Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu. It is the 4th oldest university in Japan and one of the former Imperial Universities. It is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Japan. Since 2010, it has been chosen by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture as one of the schools in Top Global University Project. The relationship between Kyushu University and NTNU can be traced back to the time as Taihoku College. As much as 226 graduates entered Kyushu University for studying. To foster the cooperation between units, NTNU has made Kyushu University as our benchmark. Last year, President Wu visited Kyushu University with 30 faculties for the seminar and signed a MOU.
At the opening speech, President Wu Cheng Chih welcomed the guests and hope that all students and teachers can benefit from this cooperation. President Chiharu Kubo also hope that in this visit, both parties can discuss more about cooperation in research or reinforce the cooperation between industry and academic.
Vice President for International Affairs Liu Hsiang Lin said that Kyushu University is our key partner school. We are now working on the fund of cooperation and development, which is to assist the implement of the cooperation of two universities. We hope that with our solid foundation, we may reach a fruitful research result.
