NTNU Chinese E-learning Platform Debuts at Smart City Summit & Expo

Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) was held from March 26th to 29th at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. As artificial intelligence technology develops, the applications begin to play a key role in government delivery of citizen services. Smart cities are entering to a new phase of Smart City 2.0 by integrating AI as well as IoT technologies into services.
60+ parallel conference sessions, bringing together over 250 global leaders and experts and facilitating in-depth discussion. Vice President Chen Chien Jen, mayors of six cities in Taiwan and leaders of around a hundred cities arrived.
Chinese Language and Technology Center of NTNU have worked with the industry and the society to promote to become a smart city. Prof. Lan Yu Ju and her seven students designed a platform called empower that supports SmartReading and SmartPinyin.
According to Executive Vice President Sung Yao Ting, the teaching platform developed by Chinese Language and Technology Center, has obviously improved the learning effect. For example, SmartPinyin helps to auto detect the wrong pronunciation and the AES-Han systems enables Chinese learners to practice at anytime, anywhere.
The exhibition attracted thousands of foreign participants from Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and other places. Our fruitful success of Chinese teaching in technology has made its debut in this exhibition. mote the development of smart cities. Zdeněk Hřib, the Mayor of Prague, and administrators of the Indonesian Government are all highly interested in this learning system.
