College of Technology and Engineering Visited Tokyo Institute of Technology

For the cooperation and communication between the industry and academic institutes in Taiwan and Japan, President Wu Cheng Chih led a group of teacher and students from the College of Technology and Engineering to attend the Japan-Taiwan International Engineering Forum from February 27th to March 1st.
Academic administrators, professors and junior researchers from NTU System and 6U-HAPPIER (6 University Human Assets Promotion Program for Innovative Education and Research) all attended this forum. Companies like FANUC, GARMIN, TSMC, ACER, ASUS, MSI.
At the opening ceremony, President Wu Cheng Chih said that the first Japan-Taiwan International Engineering Forum was held at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2017. At the beginning, the forum was for young scholars to present their research results. This year, PhD students can go to different labs to observe. It's a meaningful gathering event. NTNU started late in the field of technology but we have made some progress in electrical engineering, information, Optoelectronics, vehicles and energy. such as nanotechnology, robotics, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, electric vehicles, automatic control, energy technology and so on. Dean Cheng Chin Pao also gave a presentation about the situation of Industry-University Cooperation at NTNU. A variety of discoveries and technologies are published in this forum, including AI, robotics, IoT, 5G, big data, renewable energy, water quality conservation, mechatronics, advanced medical and regenerative technologies.
NTUS cultural foundation sponsored 10 spots for PhD students to join this forum. In addition to sharing their research, they also visited some labs in the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
