NTNU Athletes Got 4 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze for Taiwan in 2018 Asian Games

The Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games was held from August 18th to September 2nd, Asian countries all pay much attention to this sports event held once in four years. The students and alumni from the Department of Athletic Performance and Department of Physical Education are in our national team and have taken back 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.
Lin Ying Shin, from the Department of Athletic Performance, got a record-breaking 494.1 points in Air Rifle Mixed Team and also the first gold medal for Taiwan. Tang Chia Hung have brought back one silver in the floor exercise and gold in horizontal bar, which is the best-ever showing in men’s gymnastics in the Games. Although Lei Chien Ying was defeated by Korea in recurve bow, the silver she got was still the best record for the team of Chinese Taipei. In the men's team, Wei Chun Heng won over Korea and took the first Gold for the recurve men's team in the Games.
Wen Tzu Yun, from the Department of Physical Education, defeated Iranian athletic karate athlete and received a Gold medal in the women's kumite 55 kg. Her boyfriend Hsu Wei Chun, a graduate student who also studies at NTNU, won the Thai contestant in the men's 75kg and claimed a Bronze medal. The Chinese Taipei women's national softball team is made up of NTNU women's softball team. 10 out of 17 players are from NTNU. They brought back a silver medal, only second to Japan. In Taiwan women's poomsae team, Lin Kan Yu lost to Thailand in the semi-finals and got a Bronze medal. Chinese Taipei men's national volleyball team encountered Qatar on September 1. They won the game by 3 to 1 and took the Bronze medal. This is their first medal in 20 years after the Asian Game in 1998.
