Czech Students Visited the Dept. of Taiwan Culture, Languages and Literature

14 students from Masaryk University, Czech Republic came to NTNU on July 17th and visited the Department of Taiwan Culture, Languages and Literature. The students has learned Mandarin for about a year back home and they are interested in knowing more about Taiwan.
Masaryk University is the second largest university in the Czech Republic, a member of the Compostela Group and the Utrecht Network. Founded in 1919 in Brno, it now consists of nine colleges and 35,115 students. The Department of Asian Studies was founded in 2013 and there’s also a Taiwan Research Center in Masaryk University. Professors from the Department of Taiwan Culture, Languages and Literature welcomed them wholeheartedly and encouraged them to come as an exchange student, gain a double degree or even a master’s or above degree here at NTNU. Prof. Lín Shu-hui shared with them the textbook “Travel Literature and Culture” used by undergraduates and told the students that they can go for an in-depth tour in Taiwan. Prof. Lu Wei-lun, the leader of the visiting group, provided some useful information about the exchange program, seminars and so on. After the meeting, graduate students showed them around the campus and have a lunch together. Professors discussed about the academic cooperation, workshops and exchange programs.
