2017 Asia-Pacific Forum for Science Talented in NTNU

Asia-Pacific Forum for Science Talented was held in NTNU from July 1 to July 6. A total of 15 countries, 93 Students from Asia-Pacific region participating in the event. It’s hoped that through the mutual understanding and cultural exchange between students, the visibility and influence of gifted education can be fortified.
The open ceremony was held in July 1st. Students and teachers from Russia, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan gathered together. Student showcased their culture in performances. Their passion and vitality influence the audiences.
Director General of K-12 Education, Administration, Chiu, Chien-Kuo stated that talents are the most sought after resources a country has and is also essential when a country pursue creativity and economic development. Taiwan highly values the development and education of young talents in primary and secondary education.
Vice President of NTNU, Sung Yao Ting said that this year, the number of participants is the largest compared to that of 2016 and 2015. The Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia sent two Directors here to attend the forum, which illustrated the importance of this forum.
