Wen Tzu Yun Ranked No. 1 in the World in Women's Karate

The latest Ranking of the World Karate Federation was released in April 22nd. Wen Tzu Yun, now a graduate student at NTNU, is ranked number 1 with 4515 points. If she keeps up her hard work, she might be able to attend the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
In the karate 1 premier league 2017 morocco, Wen has defeated her opponents and came all the way up to semifinal. In the semifinal, she defeated contestant from Algeria 3-0, grabbing the Bronze Medal again one year later.
Wen won a gold medal of the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in 2014 and a bronze medal for 55kg female kumite at the 23rd World Karatedo Championships in 2016.
According to the latest ranking by the World Karate Federation, Wen has reached the top with 4515 points, surpassing the Brazilian athlete Valeria Kumizaki.
Wen shared her great news on Facebook and thanked everyone who have helped her, including coaches, instructors, sponsors, friends and family. She also mentioned that her coach once said that it was great to get medals, but you can only be happy for one day. The day after tomorrow is a new beginning. The ranking is one of important criteria for joining the Olympics. Wen said in her earlier interview that she will set her sights on the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. In July, Wen will join the Asian karate championship and The World Games.
